There's an optional boost, you can toggle it on/off with the .xp command. I believe it is turned on by default.

Yep. Entering the command:
.xp blizzlike
resulted in being told:
Your current experience rate is Blizzlike.

Sigh. I'll have to start a gnu char... :^{
