Is Strand of the Ancients unavailable? If so, how am I supposed to complete the Dinner Impossible achievement?

Though I have a Great Feast sitting on my bag for over an entire year, just now I realized I can never complete this achievement without the BG working. Which also stops me from getting the ultimate cooking achievement, Hail to the Chef.

Is there anyway this achievement can be completed at Dalaran WoW? Because its quite frustrating realizing I cannot complete the cooking tab because of this... undefined

Some people like you need it for cooking achievement, some of them would probably be glad to do the actual battleground. Either way, it would be nice from them to pay attention to PvP part of the community. Maybe not as much as to PvE, but slight effort would be nice.
