Cannot learn Gnomish Engineering

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this has already been raised as an issue on forums, but I have met others in-game facing the same issues.

I'm unable to learn Gnomish engineering for the ICC arrows. I have tried everything on online guides (the quest line beginning in Undercity). The fact is this quest-line is not being offered to me (could it be because my character was Faction switched?).

I have a ticket open about this issue for about a month now, with no response whatsoever. I've run out of options, checking if any player could share possible solutions or a GM could go ahead and help me in-game.

Bump.

Have I posted this in the wrong place? My in-game ticket is still active as it has been for close to 2 months now.

I'm sure you can appreciate the request of a hunter to be able to create his own ammo, please see if support can be extended.

Thanks!

I have never done gnomish engineering, but I believe the undercity quest was added in cata. I think the quest you need is in STV:

http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Quest:Show_Your_Work_(Gnome)

You can get the manual of engineering from Ratchet if you don't already have it.

Mcdagger:

Here's the thing, I've tried these too. The Gnomish trainer in Booty Bay doesn't offer me any quests or further training at the moment. In any case, the quests you have linked are the next ones in line after the one in Undercity: (http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Quest:Gnome_Engineering_(Undercity))

The manual you speak of is also not available to purchase from Tinkerwiz in Ratchet.

The Undercity quest is Horde only; however, the trainer in Ratchet is neutral, so even a faction transfer should not have affected it. There has to be something else going on here... did you accept part of the Goblin engineering line and then abandon it? If so, you will need to finish the Goblin engineering first then use the book to change specializations:www.wowhead.com/object=177226/book-evil-soothsaying-for-dummies

Thanks Mcdagger.

Makes sense, that could have been the case but I have no memory of this, so I decided the retrace the path of Goblin engineering questline:

Went to http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Franklin_Lloyd who is supposed to start the questline. No quests being offered.

Went to http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Nixx_Sprocketspring who offers all of the next quests in line for Goblin engineering - no quests offered (If I had abandoned mid-way he should be offering the same back to me)

I have many Goblin & Gnomish engineering recipes learnt, but neither specialization achieved (making the items unusable even if I crafted them).

Any thoughts?

With regards to your last comment, there is a bug on this server that lets you learn vanilla gnomish and goblin engineering recipes even without the specialization. Of course, you still need the specialization to use a few of the items, as you noticed.

I'm basically out of ideas on why you are unable to choose a spec. My last thoughts are:
are you high enough level to do the engineering quest? You must be level 30 and have 200 engineering.

I'm also curious if using the change specialization book does anything for you:www.wowhead.com/object=177226/book-evil-soothsaying-for-dummies

If that doesn't work, /pray to the GMs.
