Hunting for Ectoplasm

Seems that the quest Hunting for Ectoplasm is bugged since I place the distiller down and kill mobs in the circle but the ectoplasm does not drop not matter how many mobs I kill. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue doing this quest or if i'm doing something wrong.
also to note have not submitted a ticket yet but will if it is truly a bug

seems like it is still bugged the buff your supposed to get doesnt last long enough to get any ectoplasm
