Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

The poll results have remained consistent since the beginning and are similar to the final outcome. Thank you all for contributing your opinions! We won’t be publishing the full summary of the results, as it includes open feedback, much of which contains sensitive information. However, rest assured that we’ve noted all your comments and appreciate the time, effort, and passion you put into this. We are also truly grateful for your kind words. You remind us how wonderful it is to have this community and that all the work we’ve put in over the years has been absolutely worth it.

Now, we know it’s hard to reach everyone, and we would have loved to keep the form open longer to include more players, both new and old. Many players have come and gone over the years, and a 2-3 week period is hardly enough to capture a broad overview, as some might be missed. However, we felt that extending it too long would delay the process.

We know it’s impossible to please everyone, but we will not forget about the options with less demand.

As you can see, most of you voted for a new realm, and we agree that this could be a great option. For those who prefer an Algalon reload or Dalaran, don't worry we’ve considered you too, more about it will be explained later.

We will indeed be launching a new Blizzlike realm, but we won’t go into its specifics here on this news. Instead, we’ll post a separate announcement with all the details when the time comes: release date, rates, PvP/PvE focus, special betas, tournaments, and a major feature that we believe will be wonderful. Our goal is for this new realm to offer a fresh, beautiful journey, much like what we’ve always done. However, we have a very well-defined goal: create a persistent, long term WoTLK Home.

Therefore, this realm will be "Algalon-like" with individual progression by character. As always, players must complete one raid before moving on to the next. It will be completely fresh, but, as mentioned, we want something special - a persistent, long-term home for WoTLK lovers, much like Algalon was. We are committed to keeping this realm running for many years, even after progression has completed. This is the least we can do for players who have invested so much time and effort in Dalaran-WoW.

Now, once the new realm is fully progressed (some time after Ruby Sanctum HC), characters from Algalon and Dalaran will be able to transfer to it, with merges for characters that exist in both realms. More information on this will be posted when server specifications are published.

However, the new realm will take a few months to launch. We want to prepare thoroughly, correct a few things, and, very importantly; run a major publicity campaign to attract new and old players.

While the majority prefer a new realm, a significant number also favored this option. We understand that, even though we offer the option to transfer your lifelong characters to the new realm once it is fully progressed - many of you might want to continue playing with your existing characters and that waiting for the new realm to launch and, after that - progress, might feel like a long wait. Therefore, after careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to close Dalaran realm and re-open Algalon instead. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible, while honoring the time and effort you've invested in your characters.

In order to do that, we’ll offer Dalaran players the chance to transfer their characters to Algalon once it re-opens, of course. Stay tuned for details about the re-opening and transfer dates. Note that merges between characters on different realms won’t happen until the new realm has fully progressed so, if you have the same character on different realms, it shall not be merged upon transfering it to Algalon.

However - just to reiterate- full merging will take place once the new realm has fully progressed and the transfers are open.

So, as long as we are able to maintain the costs from Algalon, it shall be up. Remember that, even though we gladly contribute from our own pockets, we also need your help with the server costs.

We’re working on a completely new website with better features and improved integration with the game server and characters. This will allow us to implement a proper armory in the future, detailed stats, tournaments, an improved shop and vastly enhanced communication flow, including a better Discord integration... and much more - literally, we are developing some great features.

However, it will take some time, as we need to build new APIs, move the backend to cluster environments, and perform other technical work. Our goal is to create a "Game-like" navigation with an enriched user experience that feels like "Home". There will be a section where you will be able to share adventures, screenshots, videos, post guides, and follow other players for updates.
