Why can\'t I put a special character in my name ?

I'm often using a diacritic character in many of my toon's names, and I could do it without problem on Kirin Tor.
But each time I try it in Algalon, it says "names must contain only one language" :( Is it an overlooked bug ? Why would I be able to do it in Kirin Tor but not on Algalon ? |

Edited on 2014-02-16 01:38:24 Why would you ever put any special character that is not located on a default keyboard? You realize there is countries beside the USA, in which these funny-looking diacritics are actually PART of the default keyboard ? It's not even to be able to name characters after others which are similarly-written (I've been able to get all the "plain letters" toons I need). It's just that these diacritics are part of the way the names are supposed to be written, and I'd like to be able to use them, especially considering it was possible on the other server :-/ |

Edited on 2014-02-16 19:07:10 I remember it was available on retail - it's the worst mistake they could ever do. It's like I created a character named Wiązadło. What? They're part of my keyboard too, but it's a pain for the others to whisper you or add you to friends or even make macros if you're an arena partner or whoever, because that person might not have those keys. And it looks awful to others.
So please, don't. Kind regards =) |

Edited on 2014-02-16 20:09:25 You only need to do a right-click to whisper someone or add him to friends.
Removing the ability to use very common names from common languages (like José in Spanish, Gaëlle in French or Niccolò in Italian) just because you can't be bothered to right-click on your screen doesn't seem a fair argument. |
