2GB game memory limit (Large Address Aware)
Edited on 2016-12-09 17:47:34
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King client (32 bit) can only allocate 2GB of RAM memory.
While using Higher than "Ultra" Graphic Settings (link below) and/or WoD/Legion (character and creature) models, WoW client tries to allocate more than 2GB of RAM which causes the game to crash. There is a way to allow WoW client (or any other 32bit application) to allocate up to 4GB of RAM (full 32bit address) by enabling Large Address Aware (LAA flag). Programs such as "Large Address Aware" and "NTCore 4GB Patch" do that. Is using those programs on the WoW client a bannable offense on Dalaran-WoW? Large Address Aware: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/ NTCore 4GB Patch: http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch Higher than "Ultra" Graphic Settings: http://www.dalaran-wow.com/forums/input-and-assistance/guides-and-tutorials/topic/915/higher-than-ultra-graphic-settings TL;DR Can we get an official blue post addressing is using LAA unlocked WoW client legal to use or not on Dalaran-WoW? |
