Icecrown Citadel PvE Tournament: Speed challenge rules.
Hello Citizens of Dalaran,
These are the rules for this stage of the PvE Tournament: Legends of Dalaran - Icecrown Citadel. You can see all the Tournament's Rewards here .
Speed run stage general rules:
1) You must accept these conditions (and register like explained here ) in order to participate and obtain a reward.
2) Your streamer or camera man must record the entire raid (make sure to archive your broadcast since we will need to access it after you are done).
3) The players names must be clearly visible.
4) The streamer must have stopwatch enabled and clearly seen during the whole duration of the video/stream.
5) The clock must be clearly seen during the whole duration of the video/stream and you have to show the calendar before the start of each encounter.
6) The raid party must be clearly seen on the screen of the camera man.
7) The deadline to send us the video is the Saturday 26th of May. It must be sent to the e-mail: [email protected] with a list of the player names who have participated in the video.
Icecrown Citadel - Speed run rules:
-It is a one time run, that means, the clock will start at the beginning and it will end after you defeat the last boss.
-All the participants must start at the Light's Hammer and everyone must remain in this area. The players can start running and proceed to the next area when the two The Damned NPCs at the end of the Light's Hammer die and Highlord Tirion Fordring yells:
" This is our final stand. What happens here will echo through the ages. Regardless of outcome, they will know that we fought with honor. That we fought for the freedom and safety of our people."
-All the bosses are obligatory.
-You can skip some trash mobs if you can, as long as you find a legit way to do it.
-The timer will stop the same second that The Lich King casts Fury of the Frostmourne or the timer/video ends if you do not kill all the bosses.
What if one team does not kill all the bosses?
This team can still present their video and be considered participants of the tournament if they have at least reached and completed Valithria's encounter after having cleared both The Plagueworks and The Crimson Halls. Note that the following penalizations of time will be done to the timer:
-Sindragosa: +20 minutes.
-The Lich King: +30 minutes.
If players decided to do some of the bosses in their Heroic version, some bonus will be applied.
This is the table of the minutes that each Heroic boss can remove from your final timer:
-Lord Marrowgar: 3 minutes.
-Lady Deathwhisper: 3 minutes.
-Gunship Batle: 1 minute.
-Deathbringer Saurfang: 4 minutes.
-Festergut/Rotface: 2 minutes.
-Professor Putricide: 4 minutes.
-Blood Prince Council: 3 minutes.
-Blood-Queen Lana'thel: 3 minutes.
-Valithria Dreamwalker: 2 minutes.
-Sindragosa: 5 minutes.
-The Lich King: 8 minutes.
The final speed challenge clasification shall provide the following amount of points for the Tournament:
-Position 1: 200 points.
-Position 2: 185 points.
-Position 3: 160 points.
-Position 4: 145 points.
-Position 5: 130 points.
The rest: 100 points.
Thank you very much, we really hope you enjoy the tournament.

Since we have received some questions about it, we would like to clarify that no trash mobs or events that should be engaged/started naturally are skippable. They must be triggered.

Their Speed Run would not be considered completed. They would still be able to participate in the achievement run in order to try to receive some rewards but, they would not be eligibles for the basic participation ones.
So, to be clear once again: No trash mobs that are engaged naturaly through the raid or mini-events are allowed to be skipped. If anyone has any question, ask us, please. You can do it either on this thread or by writing us an e-mail.
Thank you very much.

We are unsure how to interpret "engaged naturally" and how this new clarification works with the rule: "-You can skip some trash mobs if you can, as long as you find a legit way to do it."
For example, if a group stealths past trash mobs they otherwise would have to kill, would this be considered skipping naturally engaged trash mobs and lead to not having the run approved?
Are any of these interpretations correct?
A: Using any legit/blizzlike way to skip trash mobs is allowed, trash mobs that aren't skipped in this way and are blocking your path needs to be killed.
B: Using any legit/blizzlike way to skip trash mobs is allowed, but if they are at any point engaged by the group they have to be killed.
C: Every trash mob blocking your path to the bosses needs to be killed. The group can skip trash mobs that can be passed without engaging them. No ability or item to prevent trash mobs from engaging are allowed.
If I understand correctly, every mini-event we encounter have to be triggered, completed and not skipped.

Exactly, those interpretations are correct.
Some clarifications: the smart use of Invisibility potions is allowed.
Of course, there are several "legit" ways to skip some trash - if anyone has doubts you can send us an e-mail with your questions. The events, as stated, must be triggered.
The Wyrm that lands down before the Gunship Battle, is allowed to be skipped.
