Wintergrasp participation rewards and Council candidates.

Hello community,

Candidate applications are now officially open. Therefore, players interested in being representatives for their factions within the Faction Tournament Council can now present themselves, you just need to send us an e-mail to: [email protected] with the following subject: "Your character name (Faction): Council candidate.".

Candidates will be able to present themselves until the Friday 4th of June, we will then post a poll with all the player names who wish to be a Council member so the rest of the players from their factions can vote and decide who should be the elected ones.

Additionally, we have noticed that even though the Wintergrasp Balance System helps, other incentives might be necessary in order to encourage the Faction who doesn't own the Tournament that week to join and fight for Wintergrasp. Therefore, after deep thought, we have decided to improve the rewards from Wintergrasp.

Rewards present until now that are not active anymore (not mentioning WG marks of Honor etc.):

Faction Tournament winner:

Wintergrasp Win:

  • Chance to earn 30 AP or 1 emblem based on progression.
  • 6.000 Honor (3.000 base Honor from WG victory x 2 because of the Tournament winner extra Honor perk).

    • Wintergrasp Lose:

  • 2.500 Honor (1.250 base Honor from WG defeat x2 because of the Tournament winner extra Honor perk).

    • Faction Tournament loser:

    Wintergrasp Win:

  • 3.000 Honor Points.

    • Wintergrasp Loser:

  • 1.250 Points.



    • So, we think we need to sweeten the rewards to the following ones (already active on Algalon):

    Faction Tournament winner:

    Wintergrasp Win:

  • Chance to earn 35 AP or 1 emblem based on progression.
  • 7.000 Honor.

    • Wintergrasp Lose:

  • Chance to earn 15 AP.
  • 3.500 Honor.

    • Faction Tournament loser:

    Wintergrasp Win:

  • Chance to earn 20 AP.
  • 5.000 Honor.

    • Wintergrasp Lose:

  • Chance to earn 13 AP.
  • 3.500 Honor.

    • Of course, the Faction winner will be getting higher rewards, but we believe this will also motivate the opposite faction to join the fight for Wintergrasp. This will also make it a little bit easier to earn some PvP gear for those fresh level 80 players, as some players have shared with us such concerns lately.

    Also mentioned last week, Faction City leaders are now granting 2 Faction Points again.

    Aside from many fixes, we have been deploying some core support for the almost ready new Zone of Action: Venture Bay. Since there are some extra and innovative ideas we would like to introduce with this new ZoA, we are going to wait for the Council to be formed and have their respective opinions in that regard. Nonetheless, we are quite excited about it, it looks really great!
