Hello Citizens of Dalaran,

We have been thinking about this topic for quite a while. As you know, the Scarab Lord Title, achievement and mount related to the Scepter of the Shifting Sands chain quest were obtainable during a small time frame after Onyxia's Lair release, 5 years ago (the 20th of May, 2016).

We wanted to give it some value and make it unique for all the players that invested their time into it back in the day, so they could proudly show their feats of strength through the streets of Dalaran. We didn't even think about making it repeatable as it was a one-time event.

However, during the years our community has shown its interests, and, after some consideration, we think that all the players who have been with us supporting Algalon also deserve such an opportunity. We currently have some players who invest a lot of time completing and developing their characters. Why shouldn't they have the possibility to at least once be able to earn this feat of strength?

Life is a constant cycle, and we have designed our realm to be it that way, we wanted things to be relevant as much as possible, within a loop. If the Second Era would have gone ahead back in 2019, it would have been possible to Bang a Gong once again, but since our playerbase wasn't ready for it, Algalon’s players have been stuck in this chain quest for more than 5 years. It is one of the consequences of being a very long-term server.

We believe that just for this time and now that our anniversary approaches, it could be a nice reward for our community; all those players who couldn't enjoy this event 5 years ago, old or new. Like a resonating crystal, we have in our minds the echoes from all the voices of our community, and every step we perform thanks to your suggestions always has the same direction: making all your work and time investment safe and long-term. A unique event, happening for the last time in Algalon, because the next time that Dalaran's community will enjoy this, it will happen within something we are currently designing.

Therefore, as our 8th anniversary is near and we are preparing many exciting activities, we have decided for one of them to be this amazing event. So Bang a Gong will be available for a limited time, as it was back in the day.

We don't have a date yet even though it will happen around our 8th Anniversary, we will be posting more information accordingly but, since it is a very long chain quest () which requires a lot of preparation, we thought about giving the current player base a heads up so they can start farming or planning appropriately.

Updated: As it was pointed out in our official Facebook: It is also worth mentioning that Dups and Tankslut were the first Scarab Lords on Kirin-Tor realm, so they were the first from Dalaran (the 15th of November, 2013)
